というわけで、本日の訪問先は山手線の大塚駅前のゴールドジムなんだ。
「大塚と、言ったらツカちゃんのことしか思いあたらないもんな、初・大塚駅ね。
ここは、なんと言っも、故マッスル北村の通ったジムとして名高いのね。

まあ、オイラも、別にファンでも何でもないんだけどさー、彼の経歴がおもしろんだ。
マッスル北村（マッスルきたむら、1960年10月6日 – 2000年8月3日）は、ボディビルダーだよ。
おっと、10月6日じゃあ、オイラと誕生日がカブルやん(^^)/
東京学芸大学附属高等学校卒業、東京大学理科II類中退、東京医科歯科大学医学部中退。
東大に入ったモノノ。そのボディビルへの熱情のため
に、大学の授業には全く出席せず、最終的に東京大学を中退しているのね。
入学時の体重はわずか５５キロだよ。
「東大の近くまでは行くんだけど、ある道を右に曲がれば東大で、まっすぐ行けば公園なのね。
でも僕はまっすぐ行っちゃうの。
公園でトレーニングしちゃうのね」と語っているんだ。
その後、「自分はどうあるべきか。僕は人の役に立ちたい」とまた一念発起し、昔、使った参考書を引っ張り出してきて猛勉強を開始。
「全部忘れてたから、また一からやったのね」。
東京医科歯科大医学部に一発合格、入学するも、
「やはり僕はボディビルを極めたい。ボディビルで人の心をワクワクさせて、癒したい」という目標に辿り着き、ボディビル一本に集中して取り組む為に中退。
「入学式で親と写真を撮ったんだけど、これ以降、父の笑った顔を見たことがない」と本人も語っており、父親との関係は衝突の連続であった。（ウイッキペディアより《引用》）
2000年8月3日、ボディビルの世界選手権に参加するべく脂肪を極限まで落とすために20kgの減量を行った結果、異常な低血糖状態となり、急性心不全で亡くなった。
