入生田にて
入生田、「いりうだ」と読む。 ちいさなちいさな駅だ。 オイラがこの駅に降りたのには、わけがある。
「生命の星・地球博物館」が、ここから3分の所に聳えているのだ。
小学校の時から「ヨシダ先生」と呼んで慕っている人物がそこで副館長をしているんだ。年齢はオイラより10ほど上だ。 漱石の「こころ」の中にも、そんな「先生」と呼ばれる登場人物がでてくるけれど、あんな感じなんだ。 
遡ること一ヶ月、ヨシダ先生が尋ねてきてくれた。 一緒に昼ご飯を食べた。ウマイ昼だった。
地球博物館のことを熱く語っていたんだ。 ちょうど21日から「ユキオ君の好きな、魚の特別展もやるからどうだい？ 」ってことで招待券まで置いていってくれた。
朝一番、まだそう暑くならない時間帯を選んで、入生田に足を落とした。とても懐かしい空気だ。
秋田のおじいちゃんのところを思い出したよ。
「ヨシダ先生も、こんないいところで働いて居るのかーいいなー」っと、嬉しいやら、羨ましいやら。
特別展の主
役、 水中カメラマンでもある益田一のことを知らないダイバーはいないよ。
オイラも魚の名前や生
態を全て益田さんの図鑑で学んだもの。まさに伝説のダイバーなんだ。 さかなクンの知識もほとんど､益田さんの図鑑によるものだよ。
そんな益田さんの水中カメラの展示もあって、一時間ほどそこにいたよ。 水中で魚の撮影って、
やってみたらわかるけど、かなり困難を極めるんだ。 人間みたいに「ハイ、ピース」ってわけにはいかない。 目指す被写体に出逢えても、
あっといまに岩陰に隠れちゃうんだもの。 そこをどうやって撮すか。そんな特集コーナーもあってね、いやー、オイラの撮影法と180度違う感じ。
「魚を追わない、追われるようにする」とか、名人芸だよこれ。
地球博物館を入ってすぐのところに、アラスカの熊の剥製
があるんだ。グリズリーだ。
で、デカイ！こりゃーダメだ(>_<)
常設展の方も、「宇宙の誕生から地球ができるまで」というコンセプトの展示で、オイラの好みが炸裂。あー来て良かった(^^)/ 標本も1万以上あるんだよね。 かなり充実しているよ。
なかでもオイラのお気に入りはこれ、ラフレシアだ。これは「世界最大の花」。 直径1メートルにもなる。
3年に一度しか花を咲かせない。咲かせたら3日ほどで腐ってしまう。 花の匂いは､いや臭いは「まさの便所のそれ」と表現されている。
夏休み、なので家族連れが多かったよ。子供って、なんであんなに恐竜を好きなんだろうね。 もうハシャギっぱなしの小学生の大群が沢山いたもんなー。
オイラは恐竜より､隕石の方が好きなんだよな。 だって宇宙から舞い降りて来たわけでしょ。『どんだけ素敵な旅』をしてきたんだーって咆哮しちゃうよなー。
そういいながらも、この隕石「恐竜のうんこ、かと」思ったオイラでした。。。
土星の衛星でタイタンっていうやつがいるんだよ。 水星より大きいくらいだから結構でかいんだ。
衛星って言うのは、地球と月みたいな関係ね。 そのタイタンにが太陽系の中では地球に一番似ているんだ。 タイタン
では、液体メタンの雨が降り、メタンやエタンの川や湖が存在している。
これはNASAの土星探査機カッシーニによって確認されている。 うーーん地球外生物いるいる絶対いるー。
地球博物館・・・自然科学の面白さを思い出させてくれるよ。 なんというか童心にかえっちゃうね。
